Founder

Elizabeth "Izzy" Thorn fell in love with nonprofits when she was only a child. Inspired at local theaters, political campaigns, and archaeological digs her family brought her to volunteer at, Izzy quickly developed a deep passion for charitable work. This resolve stuck with her through college, leading her to get her BA in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (go Rebels!). 

Izzy joined Vegas Young Professionals Advisory Council and became their Community Outreach Chair later transitioning to the Marketing Committee Chair. Izzy served on the Board of Directors for the Young Nonprofit Professional Network (YNPN) in 2019. In addition to earning a place on MYVEGAS Magazine's "Top 100 Women of the Year" and "40 Under 40" lists, Izzy  received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congresswoman Susie Lee. In 2021 Izzy earned a spot on VEGAS Inc's 40 Under 40 list.

A culmination of these experiences, a decade of nonprofit work experience, and a general frustration with the existing system led Izzy to found Change We Create, with a mission to educate and empower individuals to create a positive change in their communities through action, accountability, and advocacy.
